Australia is famous (and sometimes infamous) for its incredible wildlife—think kangaroos, koalas, and, of course, those gigantic spiders! So, it’s no surprise that one of the world’s most inspiring wildlife conservation organizations calls Australia home. Conscious Step is proud to partner with Wildlife Warriors, a conservation organization established in 2002 by Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin that involves and educates the public in the protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife. Whether it's saving individual animals through the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital or tackling global conservation projects, Wildlife Warriors are all about making a big difference for the planet’s most vulnerable species.

Wildlife Warriors works closely with the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, and they’re one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world. Treating up to 10,000 animals a year, this facility provides lifesaving care and rehabilitation to give critters a second chance at life. And they don’t stop there—their “animal ambulance” rescue unit is on call seven days a week, zipping out to help animals in distress. Over the past two decades, they've treated everything from injured birds (43% of patients!) to possums, gliders, koalas, and even bats.

Wildlife Warriors doesn’t just focus on Australia’s furry and feathered friends—they’re making a global impact too. They’re involved in conservation efforts for cheetahs, Sumatran tigers, black rhinos, and even Irwin’s turtles (yes, named after that Irwin!). Plus, their research on creatures like crocodiles, manta rays, and whale sharks helps protect these species and their habitats. You can check out the full list of their amazing projects on their website!

Through funding, education, research, and a whole lot of heart, Wildlife Warriors are fighting to save wildlife and wild places for generations to come. Today, they’re tackling 13 global conservation projects, managing three massive conservation properties, and rallying a worldwide community of donors and supporters. They’re living out Steve’s dream: Save one, save the species.

Want to join the fight? Support Wildlife Warriors and their incredible work by grabbing a pair of socks that help protect endangered animals. Together, we can help make Steve’s dream a reality.
